A BEAR CALLED PADDINGTON

PADDINGTON ABROAD

The Browns are going abroad, and Paddington considers a holiday in France is not to be taken lightly. So he packs a disguise outfit, his magic set and a map of France printed on a tea towel. Paddington is in charge of the ‘EYETINNERY’ and, as Mrs Bird mutters darkly, ‘There’s no knowing where we might end up.’ But he’s planning some very good holiday ‘doings’ indeed for the Browns. And Paddington himself becomes the only bear ever to ride in the famous Tour de France bicycle race – and win a prize!

Further adventures of this enterprising but trouble-prone bear. Not only does his toffee-making put him in hospital, but he also steps into an important role in the local Christmas pantomime at the last minute, completely transforming the show.

When the circus comes to town Paddington and the Browns get front row seats. Paddington sees a man dangling from a rope by his ankles and rushes to help. The result is a circus turned upside down and a daring young bear is the star of the show.

Paddington is a very helpful little bear: he tries his paw at do-it-yourself, with disastrous results. He also takes the family washing to the laundrette where he attempts to unravel the mysteries of automatic washing machines.

Paddington takes a trip to the seaside, goes on a mystery tour with his friend Mr.Gruber and makes a clean sweep with a do-it-yourself chimney sweep outfit.

Paddington read on the glossy leaflet showing a large, sleek, silver-grey car. It took him a long time to eat fifteen packets of currants in order to enter the competition. And the Rolls-Royce he’d expected to win turned out to be one of ten thousand consolation prizes - a bookmark! Then Paddington finds himself taking a driving test and, much to his amazement, is presented with a license allowing him to drive a rather unusual vehicle.

Paddington always finds himself in unusual situations, so it is no surprise when he has a run-in with the police, appears in a TV cookery show, and gives one of his hard stares to a hypnotist!
