Book 5 of the Hornblower series. Horatio Hornblower takes charge of the Atropos, a 22-gun sloop that will act as flagship for the funeral procession of Lord Nelson. Soon it forms part of the assault against Napoleon carrying out a daring operation to salvage buried treasure from Turkish waters.

HORNBLOWER AND THE CRISIS

Book 4 of the Hornblower series. Hornblower agrees to a dangerous mission which could turn into his greatest defeat. As Napoleon prepares to invade England he obtains confidential dispatches which are a means of luring the French fleet into battle. The story was unfinished on Forester’s death. Two short stories are also included.

HORNBLOWER AND THE HOTSPUR

Book 3 of the Hornblower series. On the day of his marriage to Maria, Hornblower is ordered to take the Hotspur and head for Brest. Putting aside thoughts of his new life as a husband, Hornblower must prove himself to be the most capable commander in the fleet, if he is to stop the French.
