Synopsis
Lilla Eckford was born in China, lived in India and ended her days in England at the age of a hundred and one. In WW2, when the Japanese invaded China, Lilla was interned in a civilian camp. To survive the camp and blot out the realities of war she compiled a book of recipes and household hints.
