THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER

By Mark Twain

Synopsis

Set in 1547, this is the story of two young boys who are identical in appearance: Tom Canty, a pauper and Edward VI, son of Henry VIII of England. The two boys meet, and for a joke decide to switch clothes. The repercussions of this illustrate England’s unfair justice system at the time.
