This is the true story of little Molly and Kit, siblings, aged 3 years and 18 months, who are brought into care after suffering non-accidental injuries. The children’s parents appear distraught and maintain their innocence. Both children become sick while foster carer, Cathy, is looking after them and when Cathy’s daughter, Lucy, becomes ill too she believes she has found the cause of Kit and Molly’s illness and the parents aren’t to blame. However, nothing could be further from the truth and what comes to light is far more sinister and shocking.

A LONG WAY FROM HOME

The true story of 2-year-old Anna, abandoned by her natural parents, left alone in a neglected orphanage. Elaine and Ian had travelled halfway round the world to adopt little Anna. They immediately fell in love with her but with no experience of looking after children and wanting to make up for Anna’s past suffering they gave in to her constant demands and she quickly became unmanageable. When her parents couldn’t cope any longer she had to go into foster care. I was her third foster carer in a week and despite my best efforts and years of experience looking after children it seemed there was little I could do to help her.

Lucy was born to a single mother who couldn’t cope, and was taken into foster care aged 8. By the time Lucy was fostered with Cathy she was severely distressed, refusing to eat and behind at school. But Cathy and her children bond with Lucy quickly, and finally show her the loving home she never believed existed. Cathy has been a foster carer for over 25 years, during which time she has looked after more than 100 children, of all ages and backgrounds.
