Christine Marion Fraser grew up in the Govan district of Glasgow in the 1940s and 1950s, one of a large, poor family. At the age of ten she contracted a rare disease which led to months in hospital and her eventual life as a wheelchair user. Yet Christine was always resourceful and never once looked down.
