Synopsis

When a boat containing a disfigured corpse is found in the port of Vigata, the investigation leaves a luxury vessel with a shady crew stuck in the port until Inspector Montalbano can make sense of the crime. Soon Montalbano finds himself getting into tangles with the dreaded Commissioner, and a beautiful young woman with whom he becomes dangerously besotted.
