Synopsis
On the eve of WW2, Tom Baines struggles to finish a book chronicling the architecture of his beloved Liverpool. The outbreak of war brings a new sense of purpose as Baines joins the rescue men retrieving the wounded from bombed buildings. Then Baines finds himself caught up in a heady and all-consuming love affair.
